31 Bits Jewelry

During the summer of 2007, Kallie Dovel traveled to Uganda and spent quality time with a group of women that made paper beads. Kallie was fascinated with the hand made jewelry as well as the stories and lives of these women who have gone through so much. Kallie brought home to the U.S. a big box of jewelry these women hand crafted and shared the stories with her friends. When she graduated in August of 2008, Kallie and her friends took a trip to Uganda and started 31 Bits. There are now over 90 designers in 31 Bits. Each that have a unique story and are given the chance to better their lives.

Here at Ladybird, we really loved the story that Kallie has told and not only want to be part of helping, but we really love the line of colorful pieces! Here are some of our favorites we got in this week.

Visit 31bits.com for more about the designers and the line!
